1-3-1 on our confidence picks this week. Don't say Uncle Dav didn't warn us!
Couple of thoughts on the games:
New Orleans is not a good football team. That said, if their WRs show up, that game is a push at worst. I think people, including myself, keep waiting for the fireworks of last year to show up, but it's looking more and more likely that it's not going to ever really happen. I think Vegas is fully exploiting our tendency to live in the past.
Detroit is still Detroit, and more importantly, Jon Kitna is still Jon Kitna. This is a team that is not ready to go on the road and win against a good Defense. Also, I think Jason Campbell is going to be a top 10 QB for a long time.
Houston misses Andre Johnson. A lot. Miami is a desperate team, but a bad one. I still think Houston would be my pick here.
The old back-door cover, or push in this case, was present in the ARI-STL game. Good times for all!
In the battle of the Big Apple, the Giants kept their roll going. Plaxico is playing as well as any WR alive, and the Giants offense seems to be clicking. The Jets on the other hand, were a bad team last year playing a horrible schedule, and look to be a bad team this year playing a good schedule. The result? Maybe a new nickname for the Man-Genius.
Talk about a back door cover... how about when the Browns were down 10 with the ball and less than a minute left?
A fumble recovery for six by Randall Gay ensured the Pats a cover. That's huge since even Belicheck would have kneeled it out up by ten.
Poor Romeo... he can't even lose right.
